Find new ways to use or wear old clothes. Get creative and experimental, and teach others your new skills.
Swap clothes with friends, at an event, or buy a new item only when you have let go of another item (swap 1 in, 1 out system).
Use scrap fabric or waste materials to make new accessories. Use basic tailoring skills to make adjustments in the clothes you already have.
Sew up holes, use scrap fabric to patch things up, hem the ripped cuffs of your jeans.
Use old fabric/clothes as cleaning rags or packing material or jacket patches and even create new pockets on garments.
